When beef is out, chicken follows for several days Examination #5 Lahore/Berlin 2012
3-channel slide-projection

Source for this work is a written conversation between Rudi Fink and myself during our stay in Pakistan. The letter exchange offered us the possibility to report of our different living situations – in a time, in which we both couldn’t leave our residencies, due to political struggles. The slide installation projects fragments from this conversation, so that the written transforms into a dialogue in space.

The text pieces describe subjective receptions from the outside world. They reveil impressions of the feelings caused by the view out of the window and the sounds that diffuse from the outside. These sensations are rendered in short fragmented sentences and quotes from newspapers and TV in random order. On a third projection layer, pictures from interior spaces are projected, depicting the narrowness of space.
